Here is some simple math: The population of the U.S. is 330 million. Experts tell us that herd immunity is reached when 47.5% of the population has been exposed to the disease. That equals 157,225,000 people. The death rate from Covid-19 ranges from around 2.5% to as high as 7%. However, most experts agree that in the United States, the death rate just from Covid, without adding in other causes such a flu or pneumonia, is 2.8%. That’s the number that Johns Hopkins University has compiled. That would mean that 4,402,300 people would die. Think about that the next time someone tells you that the pandemic is a hoax or that we don’t need masks or that it’s your constitutional right to be stupid and ignore public health guidelines and regulations.

Over 4 million Americans. Dead.

And it all could have been avoided.

If our federal government had a plan to manage this pandemic, then we wouldn’t be leading the world in Covid-19 cases and deaths.

Think about that the next time someone has the nerve to tell you that the Trump administration had handled the pandemic well. The fact is, they haven’t handled it at all. They ignored it. Wished it away. Made fun of it. Ridiculed people who wore masks. Denied the science.

Now the United States, the greatest country on Earth, has the most deaths from this disease. And it is 100% because of our failure of national leadership.

Regardless of your politics, regardless if you support Trump, regardless of your party affiliation, there are certain facts that are indisputable: Trump made this pandemic worse. Much worse. He completely failed to implement policies that would have reduced the spread of infection and the hundreds of thousands of deaths that it has caused.

Hey Trump supporters: You are not so dumb. You know that the virus is real and you know that the great United States of America has completely failed to control this pandemic. And you know Trump is to blame.

Stop pretending. We know you love this guy, but people are dying. By the hundreds of thousands. And this could have been avoided if we had a better leader who actually cared about his nation’s people.

It’s time to wake up and see the death counts.
